Metacam®

Metacam® offers long-lasting relief from pain and inflammation associated with acute clinical mastitis, relief from pain following de-budding of horn buds, and aids in improving appetite and weight gain at the onset of diarrhoea. With a single, low-volume, subcutaneous or I.V. injection, producers can bring comfort to their herd fast and long-lasting. Metacam is:

  • An anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-endotoxic and anti-pyretic treatment with the longest half-life approved for cattle in Canada
  • Serum half-life that is more than three times longer than any other NSAID available in Canada for treating cattle
  • Flexible and convenient; it can be used for either a single subcutaneous or intravenous injection
  • A concentrated formulation: 20 mg/mL for low-volume, nonirritating administration
  • Available in convenient 20 mL, 50 mL and 100 mL presentations.

Label indications:

“For the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation associated with acute clinical mastitis. Milk taken from treated animals within 96 hours after treatment must not be used in food.”

“As an aid in improving appetite and weight gains when administered at the onset of diarrhoea, in combination with oral electrolyte therapy, in calves over one week of age.”

“For the relief of pain following de-budding of horn buds in calves less than three months of age.”

WARNING: MILK TAKEN FROM TREATED ANIMALS WITHIN 96 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT MUST NOT BE USED IN FOOD.
